1.25" PVC Ra Apex Connector

The Ra collective has stated that the ideal dimensions for a pyramid would be where the height equals 1, and the perimeter equals 1.16. This translates to an extremely steep pyramid, almost like a steeple. Ra has admitted on occasion that they have occasionally made mathematical statements in error due to translation issues. While they did not say this was the case for this specific statement, I have to wonder whether they meant to say that the ideal dimensions of a pyramid would be where the height equals 1, and each side equals 1.16. This translates to a pyramid with a 59.88° slope angle which creates a cross section that is almost a perfect equilateral triangle. They have also recommended that pyramids should have an apex angle of less than 70°. With an apex angle of 60.24°, it is well below that threshold. Printed with 100% all-natural plant-based PLA, this connects four 1.25" PVC pipe (not included) together forming a pyramid with a slope angle of approximately 59.9°. 

 

1.25" PVC pipe has an outside diameter of 1.66", which, if you are in a country that uses the metric system, that is equivalent to an outside diameter of 42.16mm. If you can find pipe that has an outside diameter of 42mm, that should work well, but you have to make sure that is the outside measurement, because just like in the United States, what the size of your pipe is labeled as may be different from what its outside diameter actually is.

These connector pieces are made from 100% all-natural, plant-based PLA. While they can handle being outside in the weather just fine, they could potentially warp in extremely hot weather if left out in the direct sun for prolonged periods of time. Partial shade should be fine.

​

While these connector pieces are usually in the color that is pictured, they could be in a different color, depending upon the availability of the PLA. I strive to ship out my products within three days at the most, but I cannot guarantee how long it will take USPS to deliver it to you. Usually, it will arrive within about a week from when you order it, but sometimes it can take up to three weeks for USPS to deliver it if there is some sort of delay on their end.

Please be sure to recycle any packaging. If it came in plastic wrapping, bubble wrap, including a plastic bubble wrap envelope, they can all be recycled with your plastic bags at local grocery stores like Walmart and Safeway.

If you purchase one of these and are not able to find the right-sized dowels, 2x2s, or PVC pipe, I do accept returns, as long as it is returned in good condition, minus shipping costs.
